why nagi exists
the world is too loud.
nagi is the silence.
Every major messaging app is designed to keep you inside it longer. More colour, more notifications, more dopamine. Nagi is built on the opposite principle.
◎
no dopamine design
No infinite scroll. No algorithmic feed. No red notification badges engineered to create anxiety. Every pixel designed to calm, not to hook.
∅
no ads. ever.
Nagi is free to use — forever, with no ads. Ever. Gentle hourly notifications by default — switch to instant, dot, or silent anytime. Your conversations belong to you alone, not to advertisers. Optional paid tiers unlock payments and advanced features.
△
presence by choice
Toggle between visible, away, or completely hidden — at any time, without notification to anyone. Your presence is yours to give.
◦
japanese minimalism
Rooted in the japanese minimalist tradition — the philosophy of owning only what truly matters. Nagi means the breathless calm when the wind stops. That's what we're building.
∙
money built in
Send and receive money inline in your conversations. No switching apps, no PayPal. Sending between Nagi users is always free. A small transparent fee applies when you transfer to your bank — shown upfront, always.
◈
cross-platform
iOS and Android, designed equally. One conversation. No blue bubble politics. No "but I don't have an iPhone." Just nagi.
what it looks like

every detail intentional.

what's inside
everything you need.
nothing you don't.
Built around one principle — the best technology disappears. Every feature earns its place.
Messaging, calls & voice memos
Greyscale by design. Voice, video and voice memos free on every plan. Group chats up to 50 people. All encrypted, always.

Pay
Send, request and receive money inline in any conversation. Live currency conversion across CAD, USD, GBP & EUR. Transfer to your bank — transparent fee, always shown upfront.
Presence & privacy
Visible, away or hidden — switch silently, no one is notified. No read receipts. Greyscale media by default. Disappearing messages, mark as unread and scheduling on Still.
Quiet Signals
Not notifications. A gentle hourly nudge by default — no content, no sound, no red badge. Four modes, fully your choice. The only notification system built to protect your attention.
End-to-end encryption
Every message, call, payment and file. On every plan. Nagi cannot read your conversations — and neither can anyone else.

our philosophy
We believe technology should serve you, not the other way around.
We believe your attention is sacred. Your presence is a gift — not a metric to be optimised.
We believe that less is not a compromise. It is the point.
The japanese minimalist tradition teaches that owning less creates more freedom. We are applying that same discipline to software.
Nagi is what messaging looks like when you stop designing for engagement and start designing for people.
